Black is the new black

I’m one of those people who prefers to plan my outfit the day before I go to an event, meet with friends or a date night with my husband. Otherwise, I’ll stare at my closet, overthink, try different clothes and won’t still be happy with the ensemble. I’m guessing it’s happened to you too, right?

One of the easy ways to hack any of your overthinking is to wear black as it just goes with everything. It saves the time you put into picking your fit. That’s why most of my clothes are either just neutral and black. Also, it’s the best to build a wardrobe. I wish I loved wearing bold colours, but whenever I shop, I always gravitate towards the darker shades.

Both pieces here were on sale. At first glance it looks like a coord-set, but I purchased them separately at Zara. The black top was from last summer’s collection and it goes great with these cropped high waisted pants with lined belt buckle.

The nude high heels give it a dressier and sophisticated look. You can also pair it with white sneakers or shoes with a pop of your favourite colour for a casual and comfortable walk around downtown.

Both black pieces are so versatile. You’ll definitely standout, especially when your pieces are unique and wearable from day to night.  I hate changing complete outfits when moving from day into night. Black helps me make a small change and instantly get a nighttime outfit.

To paraphrase Coco Chanel, “I’ll stop wearing black when they come up with a darker colour.
